SASP-Wraparound Childcare
SASP's Wraparound Childcare Support helps families with school-aged children access breakfast and after-school provision when financial pressures or challenging family circumstances create barriers. Through professional referrals, eligible families may receive funded childcare places, helping children access safe, inclusive environments where they can play, move, build friendships and develop a sense of belonging. This support can also reduce pressures on parents and carers, provide consistency for children and help families manage difficult periods.

Who can use this service?
Families with school-aged children who need additional support to access after-school childcare.
This may include families experiencing financial hardship, challenging circumstances or a period of crisis, as well as children with additional needs or those who would benefit from a safe, consistent and supportive environment after school.
Professionals working with children and families can refer those who may benefit from funded places. Support is available through participating schools and is subject to eligibility and availability.
How are services delivered?
Support is provided through funded places in participating school-based or nearby after-school clubs across Somerset.
Children can access opportunities for play, movement, friendships and positive relationships with trusted adults, while parents and carers benefit from reduced childcare pressures.
Referrals are made by professionals who identify families needing additional support. SASP works with participating schools and providers to help families access suitable provision.
